The Annual Sports Meet 2025 of St. Mary’s College, Bela was held on 30-01-2025 with great enthusiasm and spirit. The event was a celebration of athletic excellence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Students,faculty, and staff came together to witness an exciting day filled with various sporting events. The college ground was vibrant with energy as participants showcased their skills in different competitions. The event began with a warm welcome, followed by a prayer to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. The welcome address was delivered by Jenisha Agnes Suares, who emphasized the importance of sports in building discipline and resilience.The highlight of the opening ceremony was the Marchpast, where students displayed their unity and discipline. The flag hoisting was carried out by Very Rev. Fr. Stany Periera (Correspondent, St. Mary’s College, Bela) and Rev. Fr. Rocky Ravi Fernandes (Principal, St. Mary’s College, Bela). The Torch LightingTo ensure fair play and integrity, the oath-taking ceremony was conducted by our student representative, Adesh, where all athletes pledged to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship.
The sports meet featured a range of athletic events, including: Track Events – 100m, 200m, 400m, relay races, Field Events – Long jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw, Team Sports – Football, Volleyball, Basketball each event witnessed tough competition, with students giving their best performances. The audience cheered for their teams, adding excitement and enthusiasm to the day. Simultaneous prize distributions took place, ensuring that winners were honored immediately for their achievements. Ceremony was led by our star athlete, symbolizing the spirit of determination and excellence.
