National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ektha Diwas is celebrated every year on 31st October since 2014 to mark the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India–Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This year marks the 147th birth anniversary of the freedom fighter and an ace politician. Sardar Patel played a major role in the integration of India (Ek Bharat) from over 560 princely states. To acknowledge his efforts in uniting the nation, India celebrates National Unity Day on his birth anniversary. We celebrated the “National Unity Day” on 31st October 2022. The celebration commenced with NSS prayer. The importance of the day was highlighted by a" Run for unity".
Sardar Vallababhai Patel, an icon for National Unity was fondly remembered. His vision for the Nation was articulated by the NSS Program officer Mr. Ravindra Pai by taking a pledge striving towards “Ektha”. He also spoke about the unifying role played by Sardar Vallabhai Patel in building India. Mr. Ravindra Pai compeered the programme. Ms Preetha Kumari, the co-coordinator was also present during the programme. The short yet significant programme etched the spirit of “Ektha” amongst all.
