Eleventh annual day celebration of St Mary’s College Bela was held on 21st March 2023. Very Rev.Fr. Stany Pereira, correspondent St Mary’s educational Institutions Bela, Vicar general Kasaragod Deanery and Parish priest Our Lady of Dolours Church Bela,presided over the programme. Rev. Fr. Anil Avild Lobo , principal St Mary’s college Bela welcomed the gathering.Mrs. Uma , Staff secretary presented the report of the academic year 2022-23.Rev. Fr. Ashok Rayan Crasta, Principal St Philomina PU college Puttur, inaugurated the event and in his inaugural address he reminisced his college days and he said hard work along with smart mind will only way to tackle today’s competitive society and asked the students to be smarter in their life. The Sem toppers of the college were felicitated by Rev. Fr. Ashok Rayan Crasta.The students who won the prizes in Arts, Games and Monthly quiz competitions were also honored by the guest. Mr. Cyril Crasta, Vice President ,Parish Pastoral Council,Bela appreciated the hardwork of founders and the former as well as present principal in the growth the college throughout these years and called the students to be competitive in life. Very Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira, along with the dignitaries felicitated the chief Guest, Rev.Fr.Ashok Rayan Crasta,for his hard work and his contribution in the betterment of the college during his service as a principal of the college.In his presidential address Very Rev.Fr. Stany Preira appreciated the hard work of SMC family in organizing the event and called the students to be aware of fraud that prevails in this competitive society and grab the opportunities and to excel in his life. Sr. Annie Charanghat, Headmistress St Mary’s high school Bela, Mrs.Cecilia D’souza, secretary Parish Pastoral Committee , Bela and Mr. Amith Kumar ,Vice President Alumini association Bela were present for the event. Mr. Vincent D’souza , Vice Principal St Mary’s college Bela delivered vote of thanks. Students exibhited their talents through various activities, Depiction of Tulu culture, Konkani culture, mapilla culure , North Indian dance and skit expressing the patriotism were the major attractions of the event. The cinematic dances by students made the event more colourful. Mr. Jeevan and Ms. Jeeva compared the formal programme and Ms. Vishaya and Ms. Jenita compared the cultural programme.
