Teacher’s Day is celebrated in India every year on 5th September to appreciate the role played by teachers in the life of students–the leaders of tomorrow. The day is also celebrated to pay tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, former president of the country and a visionary educator.
Amidst the pandemic, St Mary’s Educational Institution celebrated this day on 11th September 2021 at 11.am. The whole event was meticulously planned by Principal Rev. Fr Anil Avild Lobo and the Final year students of the college.
The programme was compeered by Ms. Fathima Liya Final BCom student. Through a devotional hymn every one sought Gods grace. The Principal of the College Rev. Fr Anil Avild Lobo welcomed the gathering. The Correspondent V. Rev Fr Stany Pereira spoke on the inherent qualities to be a successful teacher. Fr Rithesh Rodrigues, M.Com guest Faculty in his address urged the teachers to add value to their pedagogy through experimental learning. The Principal of St Mary’s school Sr Annie, the regent Br Denzil Rodrigues and vice Principal Mr. Vincent D’Souza graced the occasion with their presence. The short stage program was followed by entertaining games conducted by final year students and a sumptuous meal.
The entire programme was applauded by everyone present and will always remain a beautiful memory in the hearts of the teachers.
